ABOUT US

Aceh Aquatic Youth emerges as a new voice for ocean protection at the western tip of Indonesia. Established in 2024, we are a youth-led community of divers, educators, and ocean enthusiasts united by a shared vision of a sustainable marine future for Acen.

Born from the spirit of young people determined to safeguard Aceh s extraordinary marine heritage, we focus on education-based approaches and direct action.

We lead awareness campaigns, deliver conservation training, and engage in ecosystem monitoring and rehabilitation efforts In collaboration with coastal communities, schools, and local partners such as dive shops and environmental NGOs, we are building a grassroots movement to protect coral reefs, seagrass beds, and other vital marine habitats. Through hands-on programs, we also empower young generations to become future stewards of the sea. Though still young, Aceh Aquatic Youth has already been involved in coral reef mapping initiatives and marine life rescue campaigns. We believe that small steps taken together can create a lasting impact for the preservation of Aceh's oceans.

ACTIVITY

Aceh Aquatic Youth is a youth-led organization established in 2024 dedicated to protecting Aceh’s marine ecosystems. Our main focus is coral conservation through coral planting and reef restoration in coastal areas such as Sabang and beyond.

We are also active in ocean clean-up efforts to reduce plastic pollution and in planting mangroves in erosion-prone areas to protect shorelines and support biodiversity. Together with local communities, schools, and environmental partners, we educate and empower young people to become future guardians of the sea.

Through action, education, and collaboration, we are committed to preserving Aceh’s oceans for generations to come.

OUR TEAM

PARTNERS

Aceh Aquatic Youth collaborates with a range of strategic partners to support its marine conservation mission. One of our key partners is BPSPL (Coastal and Marine Resources Management Agency), a government institution that plays a vital role in managing coastal and marine resources in Aceh. This partnership provides us with access to scientific data, technical support, and sustainable conservation policies. We also work closely with the Lamjabat Foundation, a non-governmental organization focused on environmental conservation and community empowerment in Aceh. Together with Lamjabad, we implement educational programs and marine ecosystem restoration projects Additionally, we actively collaborate with other local conservation communities, who serve as frontline actors in field activities and help raise environmental awareness within local populations. This collaboration between government agencies, NGOs, and local communities is a cornerstone of Aceh Aquatic Youth's success in protecting and restoring Aceh's marine heritage.
